How to Forgive Yourself

No matter who you are, or what you look like, or where you’ve been, or what you’ve done...

❤️❤️❤️YOU ARE WORTHY OF LOVE❤️❤️❤️

The power of redemption is available to all of us. Right here. Right now. All we have to do is forgive ourselves.

Self-forgiveness in the context of integrity is a four step process:

Own up to what you’ve done: make a fearless list of everything you did, so you can see the beginning and end of your actions. Otherwise it can be tempting to make things seem/feel worse than they are.

Own the harm you have caused: acknowledge the consequences of your actions (both intended and unintended).

Right your wrongs: when possible, make direct amends for your actions. If you stole money, get out your checkbook. If you gossiped about someone, make the rounds and tell everyone what you did. The key is that there is a direct correlation between the wrong you did and the right you will do.

Give yourself a break: practice self-empathy and compassion by shifting your focus from what you did yesterday to who you are today.

Yes, when we make mistakes there is work to be done. To clean up after our messes. But that’s ok. Love, forgiveness, and redemption is our human right. You can learn to love yourself and your life again. 🔥

And most of all, take care of the love that sustains you. 😍 😍 😍
