Radical Acceptance

There’s little more painful in life than fighting reality. Arguing with what is. Refusing to live life on life’s terms. 😔

Here’s the thing:

Peace: the tranquil freedom from struggle. When you accept who and where you are, you release all struggles.

Gratitude: the quality of being thankful and appreciative. When you are filled with acceptance, you appreciate every facet of your life.

Joy: a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. When you accept your circumstances, all feelings of sadness, desperation, and longing melt away.

Love: the selfless actions we undertake in the name of someone’s comfort, consolation, or personal growth. When you accept yourself and others as they are, there is nothing left but love.

Togetherness: the state of being close to others. When you are filled with acceptance, you can’t help but gather loved ones to your side, and extend yourself to others.

Non-acceptance is the root of all suffering. Until you accept who you are, where you are, and what you’ve done, you will be stuck. Unable to move forward. Trudging through the mud of regret and recriminations. Transfixed by the ever-elusive dream that maybe things could have been different. 😔

But things weren’t different. And here you are. And everywhere you go, there you’ll be. There is no escape. Nowhere to hide. 🔥🔥🔥

So instead of fighting the irresistible force and struggling against the immovable object, try letting go. Release. Surrender. Accept. Celebrate. Love. That is the noble path. ❤️❤️❤️

Make no mistake: acceptance is not about excusing your character defects or past poor choices. It’s about acknowledging them. Honoring what’s true. Apologizing. Making amends. Cleaning up after your messes. Forgiving yourself and everyone else. And then moving on. With an ineluctable lightness of being. 😍 😍 😍
