Some straight people ban Queer books because they don’t want anyone to learn how they constructed straight supremacy.
The more we learn how they constructed straight supremacy, the more we learn how to deconstruct it and build equitable, just, and democratic societies for all people.
The more we build equitable, just, and democratic societies, the more Queer people resist straight supremacy and the more straight people join in that resistance.
It becomes a virtuous cycle, because we all start to realize that equitable, just, and democratic societies benefit us more than a deeply unequal society, ruled by fear-mongering fascists and tyrants spreading bigotry of all kinds to divide and conquer us.
And that's why Queer books are essential.
